BASIC VANILLA OATMEAL


sometimes you just need a pamper breakfast before an hectic week.

this oatmeal porridge is quite basic and simple, but it's definitely a winner for me.

i do not have it every morning (because i love savory breakfasts too) but it is giving me a comforting and pampering feeling that boosts my morning.

you can totally play around with add in's to this basic recipe!

add different flavors, powders and top with whatever you like!

i used my basic almond & cashew mylk in here, vanilla extract and maple.


BASIC VANILLA OATMEAL


ingredients:

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup almond & cashew mylk

1/2 cup water

1 Tbsp golden flax meal

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 Tbsp maple* (plus drizzle for garnish)

pinch of salt

​for topping - fruits, nuts and seeds.

i used strawberries, red pear, pomegranate seeds, coconut chips and cacao nibs.


instructions:

1. bring the mylk, water, vanilla and salt to a low boil.

2. add the oats simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes.

3. remove from the heat.

4. stir in the flax meal and maple. let it rest for another 1-2 minutes.

5. top with fresh fruits, nuts and seeds.
